The stated range is a comparison figure measured under specific test conditions. Cold weather, hills, speed, tyre pressure, rider weight and luggage affect the result. Choose a range with a comfortable margin for your usual trip.

It depends on the model. Check the specification before buying if you need to bring the battery indoors to charge. Do not try to remove a battery that is not designed to be removable.
